A fitness class designed for people of all ages and abilities. We understand CrossFit can be intimidating, so this class is for those who want a more cardio driven workout without heavy weights, high skilled movements and the complex Olympic weightlifting that our CrossFit DFW classes include. It is still CrossFit, just a more basic version. While all new members of CrossFit DFW are required to spend the first four weeks in CrossFit Basics, it is not an “intro class” and you are welcome to stay in CrossFit Basics for a lifetime. Basic movements including running, rowing, wall balls, kettlebell swings, squats, light deadlifts, assisted pull-ups, push-ups, shoulder press, burpees, etc.
The cornerstone of what we do at CrossFit DFW. CrossFit is a fitness program designed using constantly varied, functional movement performed at a relative high intensity. As a truly functional program, we design our daily workouts to be scaled up-or down-to be accessible to everyone.
If you’re just starting up, we recommend coming three days/week for your first couple weeks, then build to four, then five. Once you’re up to five days per week, we recommend building in two recovery days per week.
CrossFit DFW provides tailored training to anyone seeking an individualized approach to reaching their goals. Personal training can help you accomplish your general fitness goals, help you work on specific gymnastic and olympic lifting skills, or focus your training towards a specific sport. Personal training can be set up on a regular schedule or be scheduled as needed.
Nutrition is the basis for any healthy lifestyle. We now offer one-on-one nutrition counseling to help you meet your weight or body composition goals. You can schedule appointments with our team to customize meal planning, diet considerations, shop for food items, and log your diet results. With nutrition counseling we can help you lose weight, manage chronic disease, and optimize overall performance and energy.
Want some extra time to work on a strength, weakness, specific skill or a missed WOD that is gnawing away at you? Open Gym is your chance to do just that. There will be a coach there to help answer questions and coach on form, but be warned it is much harder to do a WOD by yourself than in a class. There is just something about community!
Skill Sessions are a 1/2 personal training session for members to hone in on a very particular aspect of their fitness. Whether or not you’re looking to get that first muscle-up or nail down your double-unders, Skill Sessions are the quickest way to get there.
After each skill session you will be given drills or a progression to work on after you leave the session.
